The umpires Clinic is Juniors on Saturday and Seniors on Sunday. Keep checking the web page for more information as it comes to hand.

Starter kits comprising Stick bag, stick, shin guards, and ball will be available to new junior players. These will remain the property of the club, with the option to either return to the club or purchase at the conclusion of the year.

A rebate will be given to players who introduce new players/past players who have not played since 2008. Players returning to town who would have returned to play anyway or who have been registered in another association in the last couple of years do not qualify for new player rebate. Seniors receive a $50 rebate, Juniors receive $20 rebate and U8/U6 receive $10 rebate.

I feel that some explanation needs to be put forward regarding what appeared to be disorganisation at yesterdays’ junior hockey, particularly to our new players and parents who are unfamiliar with the process. Please be assured that this is a one off as teams need to be organised (some clubs are unsure of numbers until the actual kick-off day) and 2 of the fields that would normally be utilised are out of action for a couple of weeks due to the floods. We are currently looking for keen persons, both Junior and Senior who would like to umpire or tech bench. BHA will be encouraging all Seniors to participate in one of these duties to lighten the load on the current participants, so please let us know which you would prefer to learn. BHA are considering having Seniors umpire J1 games and also having Tech Bench on Division 2 games, so more persons will be needed in these roles.

 Sign-on was fairly successful with a few neweys rocking up. We still have a few more new Juniors who are going to sign up in the near future as well, looks good for the season.

I am saddened to forward the news, of the passing of a dedicated member of Rovers Club. Ken Horne passed away on Saturday and I would like to inform those, that would wish to attend, that Ken’s funeral is at the Citicoast Church, 140 Elliott Heads Road, WEDNESDAY, February 9, 2011 at 3.30pm. Please feel free to wear Rovers Dress Shirts

Welcome ALL to the 2010 season - here upon us already, ready or not!!!! Following quite a successful season last year, with the J2 girls winning the Premiership and the Senior Men fighting it out to the bitter end in a one - nil loss. We are expecting BIG things in 2010. We have another long season ahead of us, so enjoy it as much as you can, be enthusiastic----It's contagious!!
